Cake Pops! I Love Gettin' Crafty in My Kitchen! :)

Hi Everyone!

I got to spend a little time gettin' crafty in my kitchen last night. :)
I made some cake pops for a bake sale (of sorts).  :)
Thought I would share the photos so you can see that I do more than just cards. :)

I made a lot more pops in assorted flavors, but forgot to take pictures of all of them. Ugh!  :)
I also made some mini ones without sticks. I guess that makes them "cake truffles". :)

Hope you all have a super sweet day!  :)

Floral Stitches Card

Hi everyone!

I thought I would share a card with you that I actually made quite some time ago. It was created to go in a special publication, but like the economy...things change. That's OK though. It just means I get to share it (and quite a few others to come) with you a sooner. :)

Really Reasonable Ribbon & CardMaker "Summertime" Blog Hop!

Hi everyone!
Welcome to what I am sure will be an AWESOME blog hop!

The Really Reasonable Ribbon girls, and the CardMaker magazine blog girls have all teamed up to share some summertime inspiration with you. I am blessed to work on both teams with these wonderful ladies!

If you are here from the CardMaker blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened on to my blog, you will want to head back to the CardMaker blog where it all starts.  Make sure and leave comments along the way because Bonnie from Really Reasonable Ribbon will be giving away several prizes to hoppers who comment. They will be picked at random from random blogs, so the more you comment, the greater your chances of wining one of them!

If you like what you see, I invite you to become followers of both the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog and the CardMaker blog so you can keep up with what all of my amazing friends create for your inspiration. :)

We were asked to use the Really Reasonable Ribbon' July Ribbon Club set to create a "Summertime" project. That was a breeze with these pretty ribbons! :)

Two things that remind me of summer are picnics and lazy day activities like flying a kite. I based my card off of this pretty designer paper with a picnic blanket and kites.

I simply trimmed down the 6x6 paper and attached it to my card base. Then I created a kite from coordinating designer paper (scored with my Scor-pal), bakers twine,  and cake pop sticks. I used four different ribbons from the set to make the tail extra pretty!

Here's a closer look at the kite so you can see how 3 dimensional it is. :)

Your next stop on the hop is sweet Linda's blog.

Other Card Supplies
Discount Card Stock - Pioruette Dotted Swiss and Brilliant White
Scor-Pal and Scor-tape
Inky Antics - #11026MC Cupcake Birdy (sentiment)

CardMaker Magazine Blog "Summer Dreams" Blog Hop

I fondly remember...
one of my favorite sounds on a hot summer day as a child. It was the twinkly music that the little white ice cream truck made as it slowly approached our neighborhood. It seemed like I could here it from miles away!
My family struggled at times when I was young. Looking back, it was really a good thing. It taught me to enjoy the simple things in life and to be thankful for everything I have, no matter how small. There were many days when I would hear the sweet sound of the truck coming towards my little brothers and I, but we didn't have quarters to buy a treat. We would still set out on the front porch and watch the neighborhood kids run behind the truck until there were enough to make stopping worth the driver's time. (Our ice cream guy was nice but he sure was a tease.) As kids we couldn't help but be jealous of those who got treats when we didn't, but I still enjoyed watching the joy such a simple little luxury gave my friends.
The days we did have shinny quarters in our grubby little hands were so special! We would play outside for hours before the truck was due to drive by so there wasn't the slightest chance we would miss it!.  Then when he did finally turn the corner, we would wait until he made it past us, just so we could chase behind him for awhile. :) This makes me giggle to this day thinking about it. Why weren't we just standing at the curb ready and waiting for him to arrive?  Kids!  :)
I also remember each time, standing at the truck and studying the treats that were available. The driver would cut the front cover off of all of the boxes of treats he had on hand that day, and tape them to the side of the truck. I was always excited when Bomb Pops were on the line-up!

Well, enough reminiscing about long gone childhood days!

Hi everyone, and welcome to the CardMaker magazine blog's "Summer Dreams" blog hop!
If you just happened on to my blog, you will want to head over to the CardMaker magazine blog where it all starts, and check out Brooke's card.

We were asked to create a ice cream treat reminiscent of an ice cream truck. Well..I just went full out and created the truck! Actually my dear friend Lisa Lara drew it. I just had fun coloring and embellishing it. :)

The digi stamp set is called "Scoops" and it is available for instant download from Clear Dollar Stamps for just $3.00!
This is what the entire set looks like.

Here are the very simple instructions for making the card, in case you would like to give it a go.
Wouldn't it make a great party invitation?  :)

1. Place ice cream truck digi towards the bottom of the page, and place sentiment digi before printing on Brilliant White cardstock.
2. Score at top of truck and fold.
3. Cut the sides and bottom of the truck out (double thickness) to form top-fold card.
4. Print additional ice cream scoop onto  Very Berry Two Scoops, and cone onto designer paper, then cut out.
5. Color shadows on truck and around ice cream cone  with grays, shadow ice cream and cone, and color tires.
6. Add silver gel pen lines.
7. With an old brush, paint in some Designer Dries Clear adhesive on the window, and rub in some Winter White ultra-fine glitter.
8. Add  Diamond Glaze to give the tires some shine.
9. Attach designer paper cone and ice cream.

 Supplies:
"Scoops" digi stamp by my friend Lisa Lara for Clear Dollar Stamps.
Discount Card Stock - Brilliant White Two Scoops Very Berry
Art Glitter - Designer Dries Clear adhesive and Winter White Glitter
Copic markers #'s 0, C1, C5, C7, 100, RV29
7 Gypsies "Postal" designer paper (for cone)
Silver gel pen
Diamond Glaze

Thanks so much for dropping by!
My wish for you today is for you to find joy in the little things and that you take a minute to be thankful for them. :)

I would love it if you left a comment. Perhaps you have a quick ice cream truck memory you would like to share. ;)

Now...off you go to visit the rest of the girls. I am sure they have some sweet treats in store for you!

Catching Up on Some Sneak Peeked Postings! Lots to Share!

Hi Everyone!

Lately many of my design teams are wanting me to post on their blog and peek on mine. That is all well and good but some of my readers don't have the time to hop around through the hoops to see the full project, so I thought I would share some of the projects here today. If you would like to see details, then you can go visit the full post if you wish. :)

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Altered Dollar Store Find Chest

I found some ugly dark brown chests at the Dollar Store and snatched them up knowing that some paper, paint, and embellishments could pretty them up quite nicely.

If you would like to see the before and during photos, please visit the Want2Scrap blog. ;)

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Ruby Slipper

A couple of weeks ago, my brother-in-law Bobby and sister-in-law Diane came to visit from Oregon. One of Di's best friends asked her to bring her back a ruby slipper from Kansas. You know...like the ruby slipper Dorothy wore in The Wizard of Oz.
Well, we went to several different gift shops in a couple of towns, and even a museum gift shop, but couldn't find a singe ruby slipper.
My motto as a crafter is "If you can't find it, make it!"
So that is just what I did!

For the full article, please visit the Art Glitter blog. :)

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Father's Day Cards

These are really quick and easy to make.

For all of the details, please visit the StopAndScrap blog. :)

A Card Inspired From My Guest Room

I was asked to create a card that was inspired my something. I chose one of my newly re-decorated guest rooms.

To see a photo of the room or get the details, please visit the CardMaker magazine blog. :)

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Double Glitter Wedding Card

I used glitter and a stencil to create the focal image on this sparkly card.

To get the details, please visit the Art Glitter blog. :)

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Mother's Day Card With Bling

To get all of the details, please visit the Want2Scrap blog. :)

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Eggshell Mosaic ATC

Yep....made from eggshells! :)

To get the details, check out the StopAndScrap blog. ;)

Thanks so much for dropping by!

I would love it if you left a comment letting me know which is your favorite project! :)
