Welcome to CardMaker Magazine Blog's "What a Difference You've Made" Blog Hop!

Hello everyone!
Welcome to another CardMaker blog  blog hop!

Brooke asked all of the design team girls to create a "Thank You" card for a teacher or mentor and I knew exactly what image I wanted to use! ;)
My friend Lisa Lara has just recently started illustrating for Clear Dollar Stamps and she made the most adorable digi set called "Pencil Talk". It comes with a plain pencil and lots of pencils with assorted sentiments, one of which is "Best Teacher".
PERFECT for what I needed today!  :)

The card base is Brilliant White  and the pastel cardstock is Aquamarine Corduroy, both from Discount Card Stock
I used some papers from Fancy Pants - Summer Soul 6x6 paper pad from StopAndScrap for the background and to paper piece the colorful pencils, then I hit the pencils with some Copic markers to add some shadows and dimension. The wooden part of the pencils were pieced from some super fun Studio Calico - Wood-grain Fab Rips also from StopAndScrap. I colored the leads in with what else?....a lead pencil. The erasers were painted with Ranger Studio acrylic paint. To finish it all off, I added some Spring Hemp Cord from Really Reasonable Ribbon and some Hot Pink Pearls from Want2Scrap.

Here are the rest of the CardMaker girls who's blogs you just have to visit on the hop.  ;)
