A Christmas Ornament For My Son and FDIL

Hello All!
My family has had a tradition of collecting dated ornaments for each year.  I started collecting 29 years ago with one that said "Our First Christmas Together 1981". When my son was born in "85", I started buying two. One for our tree and one to give him when he grew up. We put a lot of thought into it and try to find ornaments that have something to do with an event from that year. Some examples are:
"82" Our First Home ~ a key
"85" Baby's First Year ~ a rocking horse
"01" A snowman snow globe ornament from Colorado vacation when we went to "The North Pole" ;)
"03" A Harley motorcycle ornament ~ the year we bought our 100 Anniversary Heritage bike.
"04" A Graduation Cap ~ The year our baby graduated high school and started college.
"06" A beautifully glittered and adorned snowflake double starfish ornament that I was lucky enough to find in July in Hawaii on our 25th anniversary.
This year I am looking for an English Bulldog since it is our Zoey's first Christmas with us.
At first we used a lot of ball ornaments to fill in the tree but as our collection grows, there are fewer and fewer balls.
Our tree is quite eclectic but every ornament has a special place in our hearts. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I made this Christmas ornament for my son Kurt and future daughter-in-law Kristin. It is dated on the back with a special sentiment).
I know, I know.... the stamp is not meant to be a Christmas image but since they are in love (heart) and they have a new home (key) I thought it works great
The image is from I Brake For Stamps and is called "Key To My Heart" and it's only $2.85!!!!
It is going to be a great image for Valentine's Day too!
If you head off to buy it for yourself, please remember to use my
I used Papertrey Ink's Rustic White cardstock and a new technique that I learned from Merilynn's W.I.S.H. video tutorial . I used tan, brown and olive Tombow markers with this technique to give the paper an antique look. I then sponged on some antique gold and some doodles around the edge with gold and silver markers.
I hand wrote the sentiment because it is a keepsake. They will have something with my handwriting when I am gone. I know I sure cherish the cards and recipes that I hung onto from my grandmothers because their handwriting is on them.
The Red Leather and Antique Gold designer papers are from The Paper Studio and I bought them @ Hobby Lobby.
I used Spellbinders Eyelet Circles and Eyelet Squares plus their circle Nestabilities dies.
The metal key is from my stash back when I thought it was a great idea to take everything out of the packages to organize.
Well we all know that is a bad idea when you start blogging and want to give details!
How many of you have done the same thing and regretted it? I can't be the only one!  ;) LOL!
I hope you like my creation. I would love to hear what is your favorite detail on it!
Thanks and hugs,
True :D
Ribbon Heart For a Friend
Hello!
The other day I was looking though all of my beautiful ribbons that I have received from Really Reasonable Ribbon and there were some that I had not had a chance to use yet. I pulled the bundles out and the first 3 that hit my work table were these. It just struck me how bright and fun they looked together.
I decided to make a card with no colored image and to use the ribbons as a focal point. I made this cute little ribbon heart, added some Paper Temptress papers and a sentiment from  Clear Dollar Stamps. I put them all on a 4" by 4" card base and now have a sweet card to give a friend!
There is still time to join us in the latest Really Reasonable Ribbon inspirational challenge. You could win a gift certificate for your own beautiful ribbons!
Thanks again for stopping by to take a peek!
Comments welcome!  ;)
Hugs,
True :D
A Card From The Heart ;)
Hello!
Here is another card for some challenges. I am having fun doing them!  ;)
The stamps are from Verve and the papers are from The Paper Temptress (who I DT for).
I used the following TPT papers:
Neeneh Solar White
Neenah Black
Red Pepper Column
Wild Cherry Poptones
Laser Silver Lustre
Crystal Stardreams
The pictures just don't do the papers justice! It is hard to get all of the shimmer to show up....I tried! ;(
I used my handy dandy Cuttlebug to emboss the hearts on the black paper and Versa Mark and embossing powders to add the stamped images.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
SCS Limited supply challenge says to use reds, whites, pinks, and black. (Don't have to use them all). Make a card for someone special...(hubby), and incorperate polk-a-dots.
Viva La Verve gave us some inspiration photos and a sketch to follow. I am playing catch-up on last weeks with this card. ;)
ABC - "L" is for...Layering
Got Layers!
Paper Play - Precious Metals
I used the metallic embossing powders
Cute Card Thursday - All New (use something new)
I used new TPT papers and the heart button is new from my shopping spree.
SCS Ways to Use It - In With The New ( use something new)
I used new papers and a new button.
Embellish Magazine - Embellish Hearts Color Challenge
Used hearts! and colors ;)
