"Pixelled" Helmar ZapDots card

Hi Everyone!

Today I played along with the girls in Split Coast Stampers F4A91 "Pixellated" challenge. We were asked to use multiple squares on our card to create the look of pixels. While everyone else was using paper or paint,  I knew exactly what I wanted to use for my squares....Helmar ZapDots! :)

I thought I would show you really quick how simple my card was to make. I think I might have created a new technique. :) I haven't seen it anywhere at least.
I used small black Helmar ZapDots and some Ranger Ink's Perfect Pearls Pigment Powders.

I simply removed the paper backing from one row of the ZapDots then with a soft paint brush, just rubbed my first color into the sticky.

Then I did the same with a couple more rows and my second color of Perfect Pearls.

I cut a 3" card base and a 2 1/2" square out of Black cardstock from Discount Card Stock.
I stamped a fun Studio g sentiment with Ranger Ink's Snow Cap then added some white embossing powder and heat set it.
I then used some craft tweezers to place the "pixels" on the square around the sentiment.

I then cut a square of Brilliant White cardstock just a tad bigger then my black square and attached it with Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. I added some Turquoise and Black Knotted Cord from Really Reasonable Ribbon, then attached it to my card base with more black Helmar ZapDots.

It was super fun using my Helmar ZapDots for decoration instead of hiding them under layers of paper!
Hope you will give this technique a try!
I would love to hear what you think about my project!

It's Time For Another Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop and I'm Gettin' Inky With It! :)

Hello All!
It is the 13th of the month which means that it is time for another fun Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings blog hop!
If you came from Cheryl's sweet blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened on to the hop here, you will want to start back at the beginning at RRR design team blog.

For the hop today, I used a ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon's - January Ribbon of the Month Club package. Bonnie picked out lots of pretty Valentine themed beauties in this set.  :)

The card base is Bazzill Swiss Dots, the DP is from K&Co's Super Pad stack and the pretty sparkly cardstocks are Cappuccino and  Bronze mica metallics from The Paper Temptress.
The beautiful Vintage Pearl Brad is from Creative Charms.

The adorable image is from Inky Antics (my newest design team) and it's called "Fido and; Fluffy's Heart" and the sentiment is "Consider Yourself".

Your next stop on the hop is the wonderful Tilly's blog.  ;).

Remember to leave a comment on all of the hop blogs for your chance to win some beautiful ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon!

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Consider yourself hugged!

Purrr-fect bird-day!

Hello All!
I just about forgot my Saturday post for Really Reasonable Ribbon! I am in the middle of a garage sale this weekend and have been crazy busy! The card has been done for some time. I submitted it for a special project book that I am a part of, but it was not accepted. OK, everybody all at once say....awwwwww. It is OK though because 5 others were! woot woot! I can't wait until I can give you more details!
All evening long I kept thinking  that I was forgetting something. Sure enough...when it was time to hit the hay...it came to me!
Luckily, pictures had been taken and watermarks loaded! I even had a card recipe already done! LOL!
I used the adorable "Inky Antics" stamp called "Kitty Pair Square".

It was colored with watercolors then cut out and popped a few times for added dimension.
The DP is from Basic Grey's "Sugar Rush" and that pretty green cardstock is The Paper Temptress's "Spring Larch" glimmer paper.
The finishing touch is of course that beautiful organza from Really Reasonable Ribbon! I used  mauve and aqua, both in 5/8" width.
My tip for today is to use 2 different colors of organza together for making your bow. I just love the effect it gives!
