Some Of My Favorite Creations To Date

Sunday, January 31, 2010

Ok...Let's try this again!..... I need your help! :)

Hello All!
I am inviting you to head over to The Purple Cow and vote in their design team contest. The voting was started last week then the plug got pulled because of web site issues. My friend Karen Taylor's project had a ton of votes but they all got wiped clean! They started the voting again this week. I know some of you already went and voted before but now we know those votes did not count.
There is a $5000.00 grand prize up for grabs so this is a BIG deal!
Of course you are free to vote for which ever project you like. Karen's project is #4 though...just incase. ;)  Please check it out!
I wanted to show you a bigger picture of her album then what they have posted on their site.

You can see even more pictures on her blog. Also, she is giving away some awesome blog candy. Don't forget to sign up for that while you are there!
There is no need to comment on the voting page. You vote by simply clicking the dot beside the project you wish to vote for.
Thanks girls! You ROCK!
Hugs,
True :D

"You're My Peeps!" Chick Card - Final CDS sneak for this month. :(

Hi Everyone!
All good things must come to an end. This is my last Clear Dollar Stamps sneak for this month. (Everybody all together now.....Awwwwwwww!)
This set is called "You're My Peep" and it is another beauty illustrated by my friend Shawne Arnold.

I did a lot o poppin' on this one! Notice the butterfly...he is "tip popped". Tehehe..I just made that up!
Remember you can click on any picture for a closer look.
I added lots of sugary looking glitter to the Peep because we all know Peeps are sugar coated. You know how glitter photographs though...it looks like he is speckeled in some shots but he really is sparkly!

This would be a great set for Easter, Spring or any occasion. It comes with multiple sentiments including "Your My Peep" which would be great for a friendship or thank you card.
Please visit the other awesome ladies who are also sneaking a peek of this set:

Day 3 of CDS sneak peeks. "Hearts in Bloom"

Hi again!
Hope you all are enjoying Clear Dollar Stamps sneak peeks as much as I am. The girls always do awesome cards but they have all outdone them selves this time! Having all of these beautiful stamps to play with sure doesn't hurt either!
This beautiful flourished plume is from the wonderfully sweet Laurie Wilson's bloomin' imagination. LOL!
It is called "Plumes and Blooms" and has several pretty images to choose from. It releases Feb. 1st .
I was going to use this set in pastels and add lots of tiny paper flowers but then I thought about Valentine's day and how we all need to make some pretty but simple cards to give. I even slapped my own hand as I started towards the sewing machine with paper in tow. This CAS card only took about 30 minutes to make. You could whip them up even quicker if you do more then one at a time!
The papers are from The Paper Temptress. You know I love their papers!
They are:
Laser Black Glossy Lustre
Blanc Sparkle
Neenah Solar White
Neenah Black

This card fits into this week's "Clearly Inspired Challenge" #6 which is a color challenge to use red, white, black and pink if you want.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
Lil' Red Wagon - Hearts
Die Cuts R Us - Ribbon
Sweet Stampin' - Scallops
Fussy and Fancy  Friday- Hearts
Stamp Scrap and Doodle Saturdays - Open
Flutter By Wednesday - Use a Butterfly, Fairy, or Angel
It is a tiny little butterfly but he is there on the small heart! ;)

Here is a close up of that awesome Laser Black Glossy Lustre paper.

Please make sure and check out the beautiful cards the other girls have done with this set.

Also, if you go to Lori McCroskey's blog you can see more sets that are being peeked today!

One of my best cards ever! :) Day 2 of CDS sneaks! Carousel Horse

Remember...you can click on any picture to enlarge!

Hello All!
So glad you dropped in today!
I really want to show this one off! {patting my own back} LOL!
I knew the second that I saw Clear Dollar Stamp's "Enchanting Carousel" set, illustrated by the sweet Shawne Arnold, that I would pair it up with some shimmery pastel papers from "The Paper Temptress"! I had been itching to use those luscious papers that Patricia sent me as part of my design team packet!
This beautiful image screamed soft and pretty so that is what I did. I bet I have about 7 straight hours in this one with the intricate water coloring, cutting, all of the hand-sewn beading around the frame of the image, and the mini flower arrangements.
The names of The Paper Temptress papers I used are:
Crystal Mica/Metallic
Amethyst Mica/Metallic
Rose Quartz Mica/Metallic
Opal Mica/Metallic
Antique Gold Mica/Metallic
Silver Silk Lustre

I mixed my colors for the image to match the paper colors exactly. It was done on that shimmer paper but I still added some  metallic Sakura pen coloring and some Stickles glitter to give it even more sparkle.

I will let you in on a little tip. I stamped the pole on the Stardreams Antique Gold then paper pieced the base, glued it together the put 4 coats of crystal effects over all of it. I then paper pieced the horse over the top of that.  It doesn't show real well in the photo but it made it look very 3 demensional!
The beads around the image were all sewn on by hand. It took some time but I think it really added to the card.

I had to cut the square "Spellbinders Fleur Di Lis" pendant to fit the oval. (tip #2)
The golden corner treatments are one of the accent stamps that come with the set. I used Versa Mark and gold embossing powders, heat embossed then added all of the pretties.

Other DT's that are sneaking some beautiful peeks of this set are:
Tori Wild
Stacy Morgan
Laurie Wilson
Nancy Grant
Also check in on Lori McCroskey's blog for a peek at some other sets that also release Feb. 1st.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Time To Craft - "Elegant Rose"
I used roses for embellishments
Creative Card Crew - "Punch It"
I punched the leaves in the floral corners
Creative Inspirations - "Feminine"
No question about that!
Paper Play - "Pink White Green"
One of their DT's also used brown so my purple SHOULD work too! LOL!
Cute Card Thursday - "Bloomin' Gorgeous"
I used flowers embellish ments...besides....don't you think it is gorgeous?
C.R.A.F.T. - "paper Piecing"
The pole was peiced form gold CS
If The Shoe Fits - Inspirational (from a picture on their blog)
My interpretation... My horse is a girl. If she gets hot ...she pants. She is all dressed up. She wears shoes,  and if you ride her too long you might feel like you have had one too many drinks! LOL!
Theme Thursday - Busy!

Card Recipe:
CDS STAMPS USED: Enchanting Carousel
CS/PAPERS: The Paper Temptress
INK: Staz-On Black, Versa Mark
ACCENTS/TOOLS: Wizard, oval and scalloped oval nesties, Spelbinders "Fleur Di Lis" pendant die.
Sakura Metallic Gelly Roll pens, Ranger Stickles in Stardust, Diamond Glaze, sewing machine, thread, Scor-Pal, half pearls, seed beads, beading needle, gold cording, gold embossing powder, heat embossing gun, small leaves punches, pearl stamens, tiny silk roses
COLORING: Prismacolor's watercolor pencils
TECHNIQUES: dry embossing , wet embossing, machine sewing, hand beading, tole', 3D, water coloring

JOIN the OWOH "Magic Carpet Ride" blog hop now!

This candy is closed
Hello Everyone!
I just found out about a really AWESOME blog hop that I just HAVE to join in on!

Here is an excerpt from Lisa's blog...

"WHAT IS ONE WORLD ONE HEART?
I created this event in 2007. The  idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way. 2007 had roughly 85-90 participants and many connections were made because of it......friendships that are still going strong."

Please go to Lisa blog to read more and to join in!
I am #458 on the magic carpet ride! ;)

I hope you will all join in on the fun. Every participant has a give-a-way so you could win all kinds of prizes just for taking a fun tour and meeting some new friends!

My offerings are one of my handmade cards and whatever extra scrappin' goodies I can fit in the box. I chose this sparkly little fairy because there is just something "MAGICAL" about fairies! There is also something magical about surprises...that's why I am not telling what the fun extras will be! ;)

Win This Card...

Plus some crafty surprise goodies!

All you have to do is leave a comment below. I would also love it if you became a follower if you aren't already! I will put you in for a second chance if you do follow!

Verve "Thanks So Much" Fun and Simple Card

Hello!
I am playing along with the mojolicious girls over @ Mojo Monday today. The sketch for this week is sooo cool!

I used some very pretty K&Company "Blue Awning" DP and some Core'dinations CS. The focal point is stamped on 140lb. cold-pressed European watercolor paper. I stamped the images by coloring directly on the stamps with my Tombo marker and stamping. I re-stamped with VersaMark and added some irridescent clear embossing powder. I then laid my pretty Spellbinder's Impressability over the image and used it as a stencil to sponge on some ColorBox Olive ink to add some interest to the main image background.
I then added some tiny little zig-zag stitching and a flower attached to a round Nestability circle. A little glue and some pop dots and voila'...a nice and easy "thank you" card!

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
2 Red Bananas - "Think Round" ..create something with curves.
I used round Nestabilities, rounded off the corners of the sentiment panel and there are curves in the DP.
Corrosive - Distressing
I distressed around the main panel and the circle that the flower is on.
Creative Inspirations - Distressing
I distressed around the main panel and the circle that the flower is on.
Creative Card Crew - Distressing
I distressed around the main panel and the circle that the flower is on.
Belli - Use Glitter or Rhinestones
The DP is glittered and I added glittered embossing powder to the sentiment
YNS Challenge - "Embossing"
The DP is embossed, I used embossing powder on the sentiment, and the circle below the flower is dry embossed
Kitchen Sink - "A Stitch in Time" use stitching
I did ;)
Cupcake Craft - "Going Girly"
I used glitter and a flower for my "girly" look.
Crafty Angels - "Can You Feel It?" use texture
I have TONS of texture! ;)

My flower is new!
ABC - "L" is for...."Layering"

"Remember The Day's Blessings" Kitty Card

Good Sunday morning to you all!
Hope you enjoy the last day of the weekend!
I am playing along with the girls at Split Coast Stampers this morning and the challenge is a "Featured Stamper" challenge #FS153. Today they are featuring Wendy's (AKA WeeBeeStampin) awesome gallery. How you play is to look thru that persons gallery and find a card that you would like to CASE (copy). You then have to create a similar card making sure you change at least 2 things to make it your own. I chose Wendy's "Dearest Friend" to base my card off of.

The CS is Bazzill and the DP is a piece of scrap...don't remember what company...sorry. ;(
The stamp is Inky Antics. I stamped it twice and popped some pieces.

Here is the link to my Split Coast Stampers gallery if you would like to take a peek.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE doing my highly detailed, complicated cards but it is also fun to do some more simple cards too. Hope you don't mind me sharing both types!

If you have not already signed up for my latest BLOG CANDY....no better time than the present. ;)

A Card From The Heart ;)

Hello!
Here is another card for some challenges. I am having fun doing them!  ;)

I used the following TPT papers:
Neeneh Solar White
Neenah Black
Red Pepper Column
Wild Cherry Poptones

Crystal Stardreams
The pictures just don't do the papers justice! It is hard to get all of the shimmer to show up....I tried! ;(

I used my handy dandy Cuttlebug to emboss the hearts on the black paper and Versa Mark and embossing powders to add the stamped images.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
SCS Limited supply challenge says to use reds, whites, pinks, and black. (Don't have to use them all). Make a card for someone special...(hubby), and incorperate polk-a-dots.
Viva La Verve gave us some inspiration photos and a sketch to follow. I am playing catch-up on last weeks with this card. ;)

A 13 minute birthday card! fun fun fun!

Hello All!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I have a one minute post for a 13 minute card! LOL!
I wanted to join in on a couple of SCS challenges today so I picked CAS47 (Clean and Simple)
and LSC253 (Limited Supply) which was to make a card in less then 15 minutes, use something new from Christmas, and incorporate a celebration.
I just bought myself a bunch more "The Paper Temptress" papers (on top of the bunch that Patricia sent me as my DT gift) and some new copics.
I used the laser white and black cardstocks. Are they not gorgeous or what? Who needs a lot of "stuff" when you have papers like this?
The image is Basic Grey and the sentiment is Penny Black.
I also used my new red marker...a little! LOL! wanted to keep it simple but just had to add SOME color!  ;)
Throw on a ribbon and a brad and viola!
I beat the time deadline by 2 minutes too!
I know this is far from my normal type of card but it was a lot of fun. I could get hooked on CAS!

While you are here....Why not sign up for my current blog candy!

I would love it if you left a comment! I adore them!  ;)
Hugs,
True :D
