Make a Wish Cupcake

Hello!
I wanted to play along with the girls at SCS so I checked in on their latest sketch challenge #CS261.
I decided to do a card using the cupcake stamp that I illustrated for Clear Dollar Stamps. It was the perfect image for this challenge! And the perfect size for an A2 card (4.25 by 5.5 inches)
My cupcake is so easy to color and it made a quick little card that I plan on making more of to keep on hand for birthday emergencies. Of course I will do some in different frostings for the guys!  ;)
Bet you could use this stamp for birthday emergencies to...wink wink!  ;)
The sentiment is from CDS "Birthday Celebration" set.

The cardstock is Bazzill - Irish Eyes, and the designer paper is from Imaginisce's "All Kinds of Happy" line.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
Cupcake Craft - Celebration
My Time To Craft - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
If The Shoe Fits - "Color Your World" - Use your fave coloring medium

Here is the sketch for the SCS challenge...I turned it on it's side...a little artistic libery! LOL!

My final CDS Jan sneak - "Kisses and Cookies"

Well, I'm glad you popped in to see my last sneak peek for January. This one is Clear Dollar Stamp's STOM ( Stamp of the Month). You can get it free when you purchase $50 worth of goodies.
The set is called "Kisses and Cookies" and it is another one illustrated by Laurie Wilson. Isn't it sweet!?!
I stamped the images in Versa mark and embossed them with gold and silver before I ever started my card. I was going to pick which image I liked best for the card but could not choose so....I did two!

By using browns and golds, I have illustrated that this set does not have to be a "Valentine set" although it is AWESOME for that! Just check out all of the pretty pink and red cards some of the other DT's have done.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Time To Craft - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
ABC - "K" is for Kissing (Mine has a little twist on the theme! LOL!)

Card Recipe:
CDS STAMPS USED: Kisses and Cookies

Day 4 CDS sneeks #1 - "Toybox Time"

Hello hello!

This pretty little card (if I do say so myself) is made wit a wonderful set called "Toy box Time" illustrated by the very talented Laurie Wilson. The set comes with a lot more images but I chose to use just a few for this card.
I stamped the images on white cardstock then cut them out. They really are embellishments for the sentiment as it is the true focal point on this card. I added Crystal Effects for shine on the toys. I think it added some subtle pizzazz! ;)

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
SCS - CAS47
Cupcake Craft - Celebration
Three Clovers - Celebration
My Time To Craft - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
If The Shoe Fits - "Color Your World" - Use your fave coloring medium

Day 3 CDS sneak peek #2 -"Monkey Love"

Hi and welcome to day #3 of Clear Dollar Stamp's sneak peeks.
This stamp set is titled "Monkey Love" and was illustrated by my friend Shawne Arnold. Don't you just love it? I know I do!
It will be available January 1st.

I had a ton of fun doing this card. I got to use one of my favorite techniques which is using color, glitter and shine to make the sun look as if it is really shining. I also love the look I got by dabbing on shadows at their feet. By dabbing it gave it a textured , grassy look and helped accentuate the fact that the sun was "shining". I also glossed up the leaves on the tree and the bush so they shimmer in the sunlight too.

I found this dreamy sky paper in K&Company's "Happy Trails" stack and I thought by layering the same paper then emulating it with the sky in the painted image, that it would add to the "dreamy" theme that the sentiment implies. I didn't want to add a separate layer for the sentiment so I stamped it directly on the designer paper which meant I had to off-center the main picture. That left some extra blank space so I drew out a simple scrolled line that looks a little like the vines in the image and the scrolls on the sentiment, paper pierced them, then erased the lines. I think that tied it all together. Notice that I double stamped the sentimnet...my little trick to give it a "dreamy" effect too.
I guess I did a lot of thinking on this card! LOL!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Charisma Cardz - Anything but Christmas
Lots To Do - Free Theme
Polka Doodle - Free Theme
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes!
My Time To Craft - Anything Goes

My Christmas cards are "ALL WRAPPED UP" LOL! Flourishes ATC (FTTC47)

Hello!
Hope you have your Christmas shopping "All Wrapped UP". LOL!
Mine is finally! I procrastinated soooo badly this year.
Over @ Flourishes, they are doing their  Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC47).
They ask that we make an ATC (Artist's Trading Card). They are cute little 21/2" by 31/2" cards that you can trade, use as gift tags, or mount to a card base to make a quick greeting card.
This will be my last Christmas project of the year so it is very fitting that I used their "All Wrapped Up" set.
I is a beautiful set with lots of pretty packages in all sizes. This card is tiny so I used one of the smallest stamps.

I stamped extra images of the packages so I could pop them then added some sparkle with my Stickles that I love soooo much! The green cardstock is Bazzil Canvas and the gold id from DCWV Metallic stack.
The image was stamped with Staz-On  black and the edges were colored with Colorbox Cats eye in Lipstick. The image was water colored. The ribbons were colored with a Sharpie Gold marker.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
Stamp With Us - Christmas
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes!
Stamp Something - Holiday Somethings
Cupcake Craft - Celebrations
Hey...if you have not signed up for my latest blog candy...CLICK HERE to go sign up! Ends Jan. 16th.
Thanks again for stopping by!
I hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas!
Hugs,
True :)

Verve "Thank You" Card - Plus more COMMENT CANDY!

This candy is now closed.  :)

Hello All!
I just got my first ever stamps from Verve  and couldn't wait to make a card with them! They are so pretty!
Funny thing is...I liked this set soooo much...I accidentally ordered 2! Thus the Comment candy.
I could also call this my 40,000 hits celebration candy since I almost there. Seems like just yesterday I was celebrating my 30,000 hits! Thanks to all of my loyal followers and to those of you who have just found my blog! You all make taking the time to post cards worthwhile! I hope you find some inspiration while you are here.
This set is "Thankful Accents" and it came with tons of beautiful sentiments but I chose to use the elegant 'thank you" first.

.

The papers and cardstocks I used are: 7 Gypsies "Nottinghill" paper stack, Bazzill Canvas in olive, Bazzill Smooth in ivory, Core'dinations in tan.

I used Staz-On Timber Brown ink for the image and distressed around the edges with Colorbox Cats eyes in Burnt Sienna, Chestnut Brown, and Dark Moss. Other embellishments and tools I used are: Basic Grey's half pearls in brown, Offray ribbon in olive, Wizard die cut system with round and round scalloped nesties, Sewing machine and thread.

I also decorated the inside of the card as I always do but this one has a little twist. The paper that I used had a single little butterfly in one corner that just so happens to look a lot like the one on the Verve logo. How fitting is it to add it to the inside of my very first Verve card?  ;)

I am entering this card in Mojo Mondays' Sketch challenge.

Now for the comment candy details:
All you have to do is comment on this card and you are entered once.
If you put a picture of my candy on your blog with a link back here, you get entered twice!
If you are a follower, or become one....you get entered a third time!

Here is a picture of the beautiful set I will be giving away. It is $18.00 @ Verve.

This comment candy ends January 16th and will be announced a day or two later. It takes a little time to make sure I have all of the entries in the drawing.  ;)
Thanks to you all for dropping by!

I hope you and yours have a safe and happy holiday season!
Hugs,
True :)

Cat nap...must be nice! ;)

Hello All!
I made quite a few cards this week but none that I can post until the end of the month. Sneaks! :)
I have been soooo busy lately with work, the holidays, and everyday life. Sometimes I just want to stop and take a long cat nap. I haven't had a chance to do that latly but one member of our family has it down to an art.
Meet P-Diddy Kitty.

He is our 2 year old orange Tabby and is spoiled rotten! This chair has heat and vibrator and when the timer shuts it off...he meows until we turn it back on! He is a real character!
Just thought I would share since I don't have a card ready to post.
I will have a pretty Verve card on this weekend so check back!
Hugs,
True :)

Christmas Trees in Indigo with "The Paper Temptress" Papers

Hello!
I got this pretty Flourishes stamp set in the mail the other day and could not wait to make a card with it!
I used the single pine tree image and stamped it several times on "The Paper Temptress's" "Blanc Sparkle" paper to make my own little "forest" of Christmas trees. I then sponged indigo blue watercolor to make the night time sky. The star and snowflakes were drawn on with a Sharpie fine tip white poster marker then hit with some Stickles -icicle glitter glue.

The frame and large square are "The Paper Temptress's" "White Diamonds" and the smaller square is their "Iridescent Virtual Pearl".
I absolutely LOVE their papers. The photos just don't do the sparkle justice. They are so pretty in person and they are so rich and heavy, they are nice to touch too. Sounds funny but I love the feel of very high quality papers!
I added some silver stitching and ribbon to top it off. This was a simple card to make but because of the extraordinarily gorgeous papers it is also very elegant....ahem....if I say so myself!  ;)

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge - CAS (Clean And Simple)
I kept clean by not adding tons of embellies or patterened paper.
Daring Card Makers - I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas
Create a card that is mostly white with just a touch of coloring
Secret Crafter Saturday - Christmas Trees
Creatalicious Challenge - Something for Christmas with lots of sparkle and snowflakes
The papers, ribbons, star and tiny snowflakes all sparkle!
Two Red Bananas - Christmas/Winter Card
Whimsy Challenge - Monochromatic
The Pink Elephant - Color Me Wonderful
Use your favorite coloring medium
watercolors are #1 fave!
Kaboodle Doodles - Snowflakes
They are small but they are there! ;)
Stamp With Fun - Christmas
Creative Card Crew - Christmas
ABC Challenge - I is for Indigo

Woo Hoo! My very first stamps go on sale today @ CDS! PLUS CELIBRATION CANDY!!!!

This Blog Candy Is Now Closed.
Hello All!
I am so excited...I can hardly contain myself!!!!

My stamp line is called True :D Doodles Designs. Right now my entire line consists of two very simple stamps but hold on to you hats! There will be some detailed images coming your way soon!

This will be a rather lengthy post (sorry) because I have lots of samples to show you that I have done with them. Remember, you can click on the pictures to enlarge.
For the first sample I teamed up my "Holly Leaves" image with the beautiful Luke 2:14 sentiment from Clear Dollar Stamp's "Christmas Scriptures" set. I used the stamp to make an embellishment to compliment this beautiful scripture by stamping it on pearlescent cardstock and cutting it out.
