My First Post as a CardMaker Magazine Blog Designer Plus a Tutorial and Comment Candy!

Hello Everyone!

I am super excited today because it's my first post as a CardMaker Magazine blog Designer!

It's the only magazine I submit my work  to!

I was also a contributing artists in a book published by DRG/CardMaker called
"Coloring Techniques for Card Making" and will be giving a copy of it away to a lucky commentor, so read on to find out how you can win! :)

I'm just going to give you a sneak peek of my card because I am hoping that you'll head on over to our CardMaker Magazine blog and check it out there. ;)

I also have a little "Chain Stitching on Cards" tutorial for you there. :)

Now...how do you win this book?

Head on over to the CardMaker blog, leave me a little love, then come back and let me know what you think about my card.
It's that easy!
You don't even have to be a follower but I would ♥ it if you are (old or new)! :)
I will pick and announce the winner on Sunday.

Thanks so much for dropping by!
♥Hugs♥

CAS "Thank You" Card

Hello!
Sometimes you need a card quick but just can't bring yourself to go buy an impersonal store-bought card.
Or perhaps you are a beginner or want to craft with a kid. CAS  (Clean And Simple) are great for these occations! Although I usually do detailed cards with lots of coloring and "stuff", I like CAS too.
I created this card for "Really Reasonable Ribbon" It only took a 5" piece of this pretty "Funky Pink and Brown Vertical Stripe" ribbon.  that is part of this months Ribbon Club set. This ribbon is only .25 cents a yard so the piece on this card only costs about .04 cents. Not too shabby for a focal point! You could do a gift set of these for a very nice gift without spending hardly anything!

I picked my ribbon first the found 2 pieces of scrap paper that matched. Not a bad way to use up small pieces either! These pieces are from The Paper Temptress out of their "True's Favorites" package that I got to pick! It is on sale now for 20% off. The colors are Cappuccino Mica Metallic and Mountain Rose Glimmer. The card base is their Heavenly White.
The scallops were done with Stampin'Up's scallop punch and the Cappuccino CD was embossed with Cuttlebug Dots folder. Add a Prima flower and a pretty button and viola! A beautiful card in about 15 minutes! I also added a Flourishes sentiment from their "Thankful Hearts" set.

Click on the picture for a close up look at that pretty ribbon and cardstock!

Thanks for dropping by! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I would love to see a comment from you!
You can also head on over to our Really Reasonable Ramblings blog and see what the other girls have been up to lately.

Verve "Thanks So Much" Fun and Simple Card

Hello!
I am playing along with the mojolicious girls over @ Mojo Monday today. The sketch for this week is sooo cool!

I used some very pretty K&Company "Blue Awning" DP and some Core'dinations CS. The focal point is stamped on 140lb. cold-pressed European watercolor paper. I stamped the images by coloring directly on the stamps with my Tombo marker and stamping. I re-stamped with VersaMark and added some irridescent clear embossing powder. I then laid my pretty Spellbinder's Impressability over the image and used it as a stencil to sponge on some ColorBox Olive ink to add some interest to the main image background.
I then added some tiny little zig-zag stitching and a flower attached to a round Nestability circle. A little glue and some pop dots and voila'...a nice and easy "thank you" card!

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
2 Red Bananas - "Think Round" ..create something with curves.
I used round Nestabilities, rounded off the corners of the sentiment panel and there are curves in the DP.
Corrosive - Distressing
I distressed around the main panel and the circle that the flower is on.
Creative Inspirations - Distressing
I distressed around the main panel and the circle that the flower is on.
Creative Card Crew - Distressing
I distressed around the main panel and the circle that the flower is on.
Belli - Use Glitter or Rhinestones
The DP is glittered and I added glittered embossing powder to the sentiment
YNS Challenge - "Embossing"
The DP is embossed, I used embossing powder on the sentiment, and the circle below the flower is dry embossed
Kitchen Sink - "A Stitch in Time" use stitching
I did ;)
Cupcake Craft - "Going Girly"
I used glitter and a flower for my "girly" look.
Crafty Angels - "Can You Feel It?" use texture
I have TONS of texture! ;)
Creative Inspirations - New year...New product
My flower is new!
ABC - "L" is for...."Layering"
Lots o layers here! ;)
Cute Card Thursday - "All New"
My flower is new!
Lilly of The Valley - A Thank You Card

Verve "Thank You" Card - Plus more COMMENT CANDY!

This candy is now closed.  :)

Hello All!
I just got my first ever stamps from Verve  and couldn't wait to make a card with them! They are so pretty!
Funny thing is...I liked this set soooo much...I accidentally ordered 2! Thus the Comment candy.
I could also call this my 40,000 hits celebration candy since I almost there. Seems like just yesterday I was celebrating my 30,000 hits! Thanks to all of my loyal followers and to those of you who have just found my blog! You all make taking the time to post cards worthwhile! I hope you find some inspiration while you are here.
This set is "Thankful Accents" and it came with tons of beautiful sentiments but I chose to use the elegant 'thank you" first.

.

The papers and cardstocks I used are: 7 Gypsies "Nottinghill" paper stack, Bazzill Canvas in olive, Bazzill Smooth in ivory, Core'dinations in tan.

I used Staz-On Timber Brown ink for the image and distressed around the edges with Colorbox Cats eyes in Burnt Sienna, Chestnut Brown, and Dark Moss. Other embellishments and tools I used are: Basic Grey's half pearls in brown, Offray ribbon in olive, Wizard die cut system with round and round scalloped nesties, Sewing machine and thread.

I also decorated the inside of the card as I always do but this one has a little twist. The paper that I used had a single little butterfly in one corner that just so happens to look a lot like the one on the Verve logo. How fitting is it to add it to the inside of my very first Verve card?  ;)

I am entering this card in Mojo Mondays' Sketch challenge.

Now for the comment candy details:
All you have to do is comment on this card and you are entered once.
If you put a picture of my candy on your blog with a link back here, you get entered twice!
If you are a follower, or become one....you get entered a third time!

Here is a picture of the beautiful set I will be giving away. It is $18.00 @ Verve.

This comment candy ends January 16th and will be announced a day or two later. It takes a little time to make sure I have all of the entries in the drawing.  ;)
Thanks to you all for dropping by!

I hope you and yours have a safe and happy holiday season!
Hugs,
True :)
