"Escape Your Comfort Zone" With The CardMaker Girls Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to another fun blog hop with the CardMaker magazine blog design team!

If you are here from sweet Anya's blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened onto my blog, you will want to head back to the CardMaker blog where it all starts.

Brooke asked  us to create a card using a technique that we don't normally use, and escaping our comfort zone.
I have always loved seeing people do Zentangle. Zentangle basically is doodling in a controlled manor using repetitive designs. Mind you, I am sure not a pro. I've only done it once or twice, so my version is very simple.

I wanted to create a "Thank You" card for Brooke. She is the fearless leader of the fun CardMaker magazine blog team. She keeps us all organized and under control  :) ....and she ROCKS!!!

This is how I started out

Thanks so much for dropping by today. If you liked my card, I would love for you to leave me a comment before you go. BTW...you can leave a comment if you didn't like it too.  ;)
I hope you will Google Zentangle, look for more professional examples, and give it a try. It is very fun and relaxing! :)

Your next stop on the hop is back to the CardMaker blog, where I am sure Brooke will have something awesome to share with you!  :)

Here are the links to the rest of the girls on the hop, just in case you hoped in somewhere in the middle  :) ...

Time for a Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop and a Mother's Day Wish

Hello everyone!
First off I would like to wish all of the mommies (including mine) a HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY!  :)

Secondly, I would like to welcome everyone to another...

If you are here from the team blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened onto my blog, you'll want to head back there to the start so you don't miss a thing!

Bonnie picked beautiful pinks and blacks for the May ribbon club assortment and I can hardly wait to see what everyone has created with them!

For my project I created a Mother's Day card for a very special lady in our lives. Our daughter-in-law Kristin. She is expecting our very first grandchild!
I am a firm believer that from the very second of conception, a baby is a baby, so that makes Kristin a mom even though the little one is still in her tummy. :)
I used an adorable digi illustrated by Mo Manning from Mo's Digital Pencil called "mother to be 1".
I broke out with my Copic markers for a change on this one. :)

I don't think Kristin will mind if I share the inside of the card with you. :)
Notice the two little strips of pink at the bottom. They were trimmed from the 6x6 designer paper that I cut for the front panel, and could have been tossed in the trash, but I saved them to ad a little sumpin' sumpin' to the inside. :)

Here is a peek at this month's Ribbon Club assortment. Isn't it yummy?

If you are not a Ribbon of the Month club member, there is no better time than now to sign up! Who wouldn't like to get a fun surprise assortment of pretty ribbon in their mail box every month?

The pretty designer paper is Fancy Pants - Summer Soul, which is available from StopAndScrap.
The pretty bling is from Want2Scrap
If you would like to see another shot of the card and get the names and links to all of the bling that I used, head over to the Want2Scrap blog after you have finished the hop. ;)
I used Beacon- Fabri-tac to put it all together.

Make sure to leave a comment on all of the girl's blogs (including mine) so you can increase your chances of winning a fun prize from Really Reasonable Ribbon!

Your next stop on the hop is sweet Linda's blog. I bet she'll have something awesome to share with you!

Thanks for dropping by!

I Found Another "Published" Card I haven't Shared Yet! LOL!

Hi again everyone!
This is my second post for the day so please scroll down to see my layout.  ;)

Usually, when you have a project in a book or magazine, they would like you to wait awhile to post them on our blogs. Of course the September issue of CardMaker was a little different for me because I was the "Featured Designer" and they also featured me for several weeks on their Facebook page and asked me to show the cards form that issue. It's a good thing because I won't forget them like I did this card! LOL!  ;)
I was looking though all of my Basic Grey cards and came across it. I used their Granola stack which is an oldie but goody.  It was new when I made this card! LOL!
BTW...when I went looking for the link to Granola, I found they still have some in stock and it is on a mega clearance! The 12x12 paper pad was $20.00 and is on sale for just $5.00! Wow! That's crazy cheap!

My card was published in the "Coloring Techniques For Card Making" book by DRG Publishing along with 4 others I created. It can be found on page 31. ;)

The adorable image #0659J "Puppy Love" from Inky Antics.

Thanks for taking a peek!
Don't forget to scroll down to see what else I've done today!  :)

Hugs,
True :D

RRRR Challenge and My "Whiff of Spring" Card

Hi Everyone!
Well...it's the first of the month but there will be no new challenge over @ Really Reasonable Ribbons Ramblings today. ;(
APRIL FOOLS!!!!!
For today's "Use Dies or Punches + Ribbon" challenge, we have teamed up with "Whiff of Joy" and some of their awesome design team to create some sweet projects for you.
I chose to use the cute "Girl and Her Lamb" image.
I colored her with watercolors then used colored pencils to finish off her hair, and chalked in some clouds.

I LOVE this line of ribbon since I love coloring images to match. Notice the pink and white dots on her dress.
BTW...people are always commenting on my "perfect" bows. My trick is the "Bow-Easy" available @ Really Reasonable Ribbon.
The beautiful daffodils are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The papers are Bazzill Swiss Dots, K&Company's ~ Susan Winget "Spring Blossom" Specialty Paper Pad, and Fairway mica metallic.

To meet the challenge requirements, I used Neastability dies to cut out the image and Stampin' Up's scalloped boarder punches.
I hope you will come on over to our Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings blog, see what the other girls have whipped up for you, and join in on the fun. You could win a prize from either Really Reasonable Ribbon or Whiff of Joy!!!!

BTW...you still have a few days left to apply for the RRRR design team!

Hi Everyone!
Hope your weekend is off to a great start!
I guess you have figured out by now that I don't let the season dictate what kind of cards I do. ;)
By the time Christmas is over, I am ready to do some non-coldish type cards.
This one is done with I Brake For Stamps ~ "Kerr Jar" stamp.
Images like this make me feel like a true artist! It was so fun to color. :)
If you like it as much as I do and want to buy it...don't forget to use my coupon code SAVE10TRUE to save 10% off of your entire order!

The cardstock is Bazzill's Swiss Dots and the DP is from The Best of K&Company stack.
The jewels are the Clear Gradient Gem stickers from Creative Charms that I just colored with a Copic to match the color of the jar.

The image itself is watercolored then I added some Diamond Glaze to the jar  and berries.

Thanks so much for dropping by!
A comment from you would be "berry" sweet!  ;)

My 1st Guest DT card for "I Brake For Stamps" and it was easy as pie! ;)

Hello All!
A few of months ago, I participated in a huge blog hop called "One World One Heart". During that hop, I got a very complimentary email from a sweet lady named Della who just happened across my blog.
She owns the "I Brake For Stamps" company and asked if I would consider being on her design team. I really don't have the time I would need to join another "stamp" DT but I told her I would have a little vacation from some of my Clear Dollar Stamps duties this month and next and asked if she would want a guest DT for a little while. I got an email from her again a couple of weeks ago reminding me and went straight to her shop to pick out some stamps to play with. There were so many great stamps to pick from! I chose the full sheet #MS71.
It has 4 big pretty pictures of fruit. I liked it because the images are so big, that you can really focus on your coloring and pretty much fill the card front with the it. No designer papers needed!
This is my first card done with one of the images. I think it turned out pretty SWEET! LOL!

This is what the set looks like.
If you would like to purchase this set or any others from "I Brake For Stamps", use my coupon code SAVE10TRUE to get 10% off of your entire purchase!

I am entering this card in the following challenges...
