My mono Owl! Hehehe!
"Whimsy Stamps" is doing their second "Whimsy Challenge". It is all about monochromatic. Head on over to the "Whimsy Challenge" blog and check out the examples the awesome team has created and read a complete list of rules!
The "Whimsy" team's definition of monochromatic for this challenge is one neutral paired with one other color. You may use as many different shades of that one color, but you may only use one color and one neutral. You also, of course, need to include a Whimsy Stamps image in your project.
Your project must be posted by May 10th.
I chose to use that adorable "Whimsy Owl". I just LOVE him!
The cardstock is Bazzill and the DP was from a stash of pieces. Not sure who made it. Ooops!
Please let me know what you think. ;)

Pretty Frog and Flower Card
Hello,
This is another card made for my guest DT stint for "The Greeting Farm." This is from their "Down by the Pond" set. I just think it is such a cute frog! I didn't use a lot of embellishments because I wanted that pretty "Basic Grey" DP to show. The card base is Bazzill Dots.
Please let me know what you think. :)

Heavy gloss with glitter tutorial
Hello All.
I have already had a couple of people ask how I got Mertyl’s shell (in my previous blog post)to look like that.
So…here ya go….
First color your image with what ever medium you like. Mine is done with watercolor and colored pencil details.
Then cut them out if you are going to “pop” them.
Tip: If any of you are still totally coloring all copies of your “popped” images STOP!
I just go around the outer edges of the lower images. This saves time and also lets your sticky dots stick much much better!
The next step is to add glitter. I used orange and fruit punch “Stickles” on the shell and leaf green on the turtle and grass.
Then I take “Versa Mark” refill and paint it evenly over the entire shell with an old paint brush. I do this instead of the pad because the water color stains the pad and also because it goes on thicker so you need fewer coats to get a really thick finish.
Cover with extra thick Gloss embossing powder. Heat to a shine with an embossing heat gun, let cool a few seconds, and then repeat. On most things I heat to a high gloss finish but on Mertyl, I left the second coat a little bumpy for a turtle shell texture effect.
Put the pieces together with pop dots or tape and….voila!
If this tutorial was helpful or if you have questions or comments, please post below.

Mertyl the Turtle...Made with a digi stamp from My Original Artwork
Hello All!
I have been busy designing some digi stamps from my original artwork that I hope to be offering for sale as soon as I get a good collection done up and figure out how to set up PayPal buttons. UUGGHH!
This is one of my first batches. Meet Mertyl the Turtle! A friend of mine suggested I do a turtle because she has one for a pet.
The papers are "Basic Grey" and "core'dinations". I really glossed up her shell but didn't quite get the second coat of embossing powder hot enough to be smooth. I think it really adds to the shell effect.
Please let me know what you think.
Remember, you can click on the image to enlarge.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you have a great weekend! :)

Wow...2 posts in one night. That is just not like me!
This card turned out so cute, I couldn't wait to share. It is done with a "The Greeting Farm" stamp set called "Cup of Stuff." It is one of the cards I am doing for my guest DT spot at the end of April.
The papers are "Core'dinations", "Bazzill Dots", and "Basic Grey."
This was my first ever "Gate Fold" card and I think I like the style. Look for more to come! LOL!

Whimsy Frog Card
Good Sunday to you all!
Today's card is made with that cute little "Whimsy" frog. The papers are from two different "DCWV" stacks... Whimsy (ironicly) and Latte'. I glossed the frogs eyes, lilypad and water and added some dew drops, a flower, and ribbon but let the pretty papers be the best embellishment.
Please let me know what you think.
