Breaking Out an Oldie But Goody Stamp

Hi Everyone!
Today I am playing along with a couple of challenges over @ Split Coast Stampers plus a few others.
Today's "Free For All" F4A43 challenge is "Christmas Break". We were asked to take a break from Christmas cards and create a birthday card....GLADLY!  ;)
Yesterday's "Ways to Use It" WT301 is "All That Glitters" and we were simply asked to use glitter on our project.

I broke out with one of my favorite Penney Black birthday stamps from the "Critter Party" set. I know it has been around for awhile but I think it is sweet and timeless. I used watercolors on the image and popped 2 of the mice and the cupcake for some dimension.
The designer papers are Basic Grey's - "Sugar Rush".
That cute little flower that adds just the right pop to my bow is a small flat mulberry flower from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
Creative Card Crew ~ "Anything Goes"
Fun With Shapes and More ~ "Scalloped"

My decorated Candle for Really Reasonable Ribbon's "Anything But a Card" Challenge.

Hello Everyone!
Today starts a new challenge over at Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings blog.
This time we want you to show us your non card skills. ;)
We are doing a Winter theme with ribbon, but it has to be "Anything But a Card". How fun is that!?!

My project is this pillar candle that I just wrapped with foil paper, and embellished with ribbon flowers and pearls....oh my. ;).

I colored the white stamens with my Copic marker and sponged the tips of some of the flowers, to match the paper color, then added some Martha Stewart punch snowflakes.

Hope you will come join us in the challenge. You could win one of 2 gift certificates!
For all of the details and inspiration from the rest of the team, head on over to Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings.

I would love a quick comment so I will know you were here! :)

Thanks and hugs,
True :D

PS...My friend Karen has some blog candy up for grabs over on her blog "Creative Yearnings". Why not go check it out?  ;)

Hello All!
A while back, I guest DT'ed for I Brake For Stamps and loved their images! Della asked then if I would like to be a full time DT but with my full time job and other design team responsibilities, there was just not enough time. Yet another silver lining to getting laid off is...now I have time!

I got to go shopping for rubber and picked so many awesome stamps that it was hard to decide which to do first. I love killing two birds with one stone! Don't you? ;)  Tehehehe!
Here is the result....

Remember, you can click on any picture to enlarge!
Here is a close up of that beautiful Green Glitz ribbon that I adorned with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

"Home Tweet Home" ~ CDS Sneak Peek

Hello!
It is day 3 of  Clear Dollar Stamps' August sneak peeks!
I get to show you a couple of cards done with the set I illustrated for this month's release, called "Home Tweet Home".

This was a super fun set to draw! It  is also a very versatile set.
It works great for wedding or anniversary cards, house warming or thank you cards. Just because or to cheer someone up, just to name a few occasions!
I decided to show you two completely different styles of cards so you can see what I mean about the versatility.
The first is a version that would work great for a wedding , anniversary or engagement card.
I used the large birdcage and the doves plus the scrolled hanger and sentiment.
I thought the gold embossing would look super classy with the beautiful gold leaf trim from The Paper Temptress. The cardstock is all Paper Temptress too. (See card recipe below for color names and links).
I have a tip for you if you want the same effect. I stamped the doves first, then stamped a second set to use as a mask. I cut that set out, placed it over the doves, then sponged pastel colors in the background with diluted ink from Tombow markers. Then I stamped and embossed the other elements, colored in the leaves, and viola!
The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Remember...you can click on any picture to enlarge for better detail.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Create 4 Fun ~ Use flowers
Crafty Creations ~ Happy or Sweet
Stamp Simply ~ Two's company
Mami  Doodles ~ Anything Goes
Think Ink ~ Create your own background
Creative cottage ~ Touchy Feely
Ginger Snap ~ Markers
Creative Inspirations ~ Anything Goes
ABC ~ Zig-zag
Paper Play ~ Anything Goes
Stamp Something ~ Something Flowery

The second card is a cute little thing that would work for lots of occasions. Just add your own hand written sentiment to the inside to make it fit. I just used the scrolled hanger and the tiny "Tweets" birds and a sentiment.
The designer paper is Basic Grey's Sugar Rush and the beautiful cardstock and ribbon are all from Clear Dollar Stamps. (See recipe)

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Creations ~ Happy or Sweet
Stamp Simply ~ Two's company
Mami  Doodles ~ Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly ~ Cutie Patootie
Ginger Snap ~ Markers
Creative Inspirations ~ Anything Goes

Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop with my very first Magnolia!

Hello, and welcome to another installation of the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog hop!
We had so much fun with our first hop a few weeks ago, introducing the new Design Team, that we wanted to do another one. Actually, we have decided to do one on the 13th of every month! Each month, the winner of the draw will receive the "Ribbon of The Month" package from RRR.

If you came here from Kerri's beautiful  blog, you are in the right place!
If you just stumbled in, head on over to Bonnie's "Really Reasonable Ribbon Ramblings" blog to read the rules and start at the beginning.

OK...it's official...I have colored my very first Magnolia image! A friend gave this one to me quite awhile back and I never inked it up. Shame on me! I have redeemed myself now though! LOL!

I look back at my last several (dozen) cards and see a pattern. I LOVE ribbons and bows and love to use them....a lot!
I challenged myself to not use  ribbons or bows on this card. Bad timing for a Really Reasonable Ribbon blog hop you say!!  I think not!!!! They have a wonderful assortment of other items too. On this card I used their .25 cents a yard "Light Pink Mini Ric Rac"  and my new all time favorite trim... "Moss Green Leaves".

Busted! I caught you looking for the leaf trim...didn't I? I forgot to tell you that my favorite way to use it is all cut up!
It makes wonderful shimmery leaves for flowers! And at only .80 cents a yard, it makes a lot inexpensive leaf accents!

This is the first time I have used flowers from "Wild Orchid Crafts" and I LOVE them!
The card base is Bazzill Salt Swiss Dots. The rest of the CS and the DP are "Stampin'Up".
The image was colored with Copics and paper pieced.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Fun With Shapes ~ "Pastel Inks"
Stamp Something ~ "Birthday Somethings" (Explanation...My camera pooped out on me before I got to shoot the inside. I will try to load a picture later. The inside sentiment reads "I hope you are surrounded by the ones you love and all things beautiful on your  birthday!"
Cupcake Craft ~ "Buttons"
Sweet Stampin ~ "Color Combo"
The Pink Elephant ~ "Yellow, Designer Paper, and Buttons"
Roses on Paper ~ "Pink, Yellow, and Orange
Kaboodle ~ "Spring"
My Time to Craft ~ "Tooo Cute"
Creative Card Crew ~ this "Sketch"

Paper Play ~"Stamp/digi with some bling!

Thanks again for checking in on me! I would love it if you took a second or two to spread a little comment lovin' my way!

Now head on over to your next stop @ Cheryl's blog to see her Sweet Designs!

Hugs,
True :D
