Baptism Cake

Well, we had a wonderful weekend (I'm just a little late posting). My son and grand-son got baptized!
I made a cake for their reception. Thought I would share it here.

It was 12" x 18" x 2", half choc and half vanilla, and it's white on white with metallic silver sides and accents and gunmetal beads in the cross with eatable glitter that you can't see in the photo, but really sparkly in real life. I got lots of compliments from the church members and lots of people who wanted to start buying cakes from me. Sure wish Kansas would hurry up and OK cottage industries so I could bake and sell from home! :)

Here's a picture of my adorable grandson in his Baptismal outfit.
He's such a cutie patootie! :)

I LOVE My KopyKake!

Hi everyone!

I have to share an amazing tool that I got for both crafting and cake/cookie decorating.
It is my new KopyKake projector.
This is what they look like.
I finally had an excuse to use it for the first time, last night.
One of the guys that works for my hubby, is retiring.
Hubs always has me make a cake for his retirees.
Kevin plans on spending his newly found free time, working on his classic car so hubby asked if I could do a picture of his car on a cake.
Before I got my KopyKake, it might have been tough, but now, it's a breeze!
Here is a shot of the car as I'm starting to lay in the Royal frosting onto waxed paper.

The KopyKake also is a great tool for perfectly placing the sentiment on the cake. No more running out of room for letters! LOL!

After the car dried overnight, I carefully peeled it off of the waxed paper and glued it to the cake with Karo syrup. Then I painted on some grass and shadows with food color.

(Please pardon the poor quality photo. It was taken at 5:00 AM with zero natural lighting)

Thanks for dropping by!
Hope you have an awesome day!

Art With Sugar and Flour

Hi everyone!

I thought I would pop on and show you some goodies that I created for a friend's function last week.
I don't care what medium I create in....I just love creating! :)

My first ever "ruffle" cake.

Royal frosted sugar cookies.

Cream cheese butter mints.

And a Pineapple Upside-down cake turned right-side-up and frosted in the shape of a "50". :)

The cakes look small but they really weren't. That was a deep table! :)

Hope your day is a SWEET one! :)

Hugs,

Cake Pops! I Love Gettin' Crafty in My Kitchen! :)

Hi Everyone!

I got to spend a little time gettin' crafty in my kitchen last night. :)
I made some cake pops for a bake sale (of sorts).  :)
Thought I would share the photos so you can see that I do more than just cards. :)

I made a lot more pops in assorted flavors, but forgot to take pictures of all of them. Ugh!  :)
I also made some mini ones without sticks. I guess that makes them "cake truffles". :)

Hope you all have a super sweet day!  :)

A Different Kinda Crafty! :)

Hello All!
If you are here for the RRRR blog hop, scroll down one post.  ;)
I don't normally post this late at night but I just finished a cake for hubby and thought I would show you that I can do more then just make cards. LOL!
One of the guys that works for hubby is retiring and is a big K-State fan. I broke out with the purple food coloring because he wanted me to do a cake for Roy. I think my sweetie is an awesome boss to think of his guys like that!
The cake is bigger then it looks in the photo. It's 11" by 15".

Boy is it hard to do something like this when you're on a diet!  UGGHHH!
My house smells soooooo good!

See ya in the morning with another card to show ya, :)

Hugs,
True :D
