Check Out My Ruby Slipper on the Art Glitter Blog!

Hi Everyone!

A couple of weeks ago, my brother-in-law Bobby and sister-in-law Diane came to visit from Oregon. One of Di's best friends asked her to bring her back a ruby slipper from Kansas. You know...like the ruby slipper Dorothy wore in The Wizard of Oz.
Well, we went to several different gift shops in a couple of towns, and even a museum gift shop, but couldn't find a singe ruby slipper.
My motto as a crafter is "If you can't find it, make it!"
So that is just what I did!

I would LOVE for you to head over to the Art Glitter blog and check it out and see how I made it!

Here is a tiny sneak peek.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  :)

Hi everyone!

Authentique Paper and Want2Scrap are teaming up this week to bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper and Want2Scrap products!

I have been having a blast decorating cheesy ugly chests that I found at the dollar store for cheap, and turning them into a little sumpin' sumpin' purdy. CLICK HERE to see one I created earlier this week and posted on the Want2Scrap blog with before and after photos.

Here is another one that I did for today's cross-promotional post with Authentique's beautiful Lively Collection.

Notice the pretty lock in the picture above, and the key tucked into the flowers below? They are part of the Card-sized Antique Keys and Keyholes chipboard set. The bling is Le Creme Finess Swirls Pearls.

Make sure and visit Aj Otto's blog! She is the other day 3 Want@Scrap designer, and I'm sure she has something awesome to share with you!

You should also stop by the Want2Scrap blog for links to the Day 1 and Day 2 designers projects. :)

CardMaker Magazine Blog "He's All That" Blog Hop

(If you are looking for the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog hop, please CLICK HERE)
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to another fun blog hop with the CardMaker magazine blog design team!

If you are here from sweet Anya's blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened onto my blog, you will want to head back to the CardMaker blog where it all starts.

We are featuring cards for guys this month. They can be birthday, Father's Day, or any other occasion, as long as they are masculine.

Perfect timing for me! One of the guys my hubby works with, recently retired from John Deere to spend his time farming. My sweet hubby asked me to make him a retirement card with that in mind.

This is what I came up with....

I used some "found" corrugated cardboard for the plowed hills, and used chalk and a hand cut cloud template for the sky.
The John Deere stickers are Heritage logos from Creative Imaginations.
The tractor on the inside is clip art, and the sentiment was computer generated.
The cardstock is Brilliant White, Straw, and Classic Yellow Green, all from Discount Card Stock.
The Yellow Gold Organza Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I added multiple blank pages because Robert passed it around the shop so others could leave a retirement comment and signature too.
Because of the thickness, I also made a coordinating envelope box to keep it in.

Thanks so much for dropping by today. If you liked my card, I would love for you to leave me a comment before you go. BTW...you can leave a comment if you didn't like it too.  ;)

Your next stop on the hop is the super talented Michelle Woerner's blog. I am sure she has something amazing to share with you! :)

Hugs,

Day 4 of the Want2Scrap/Glue Arts Spring Into Summer Blog Hop

Hi Everyone!

If you are looking for the Inky Antic's blog hop, please scroll down one post. ;)

Today is my day to post on the week long Want2Scrap & Glue Arts blog hop.
I hope you have been checking out the wonderful projects the designers from both teams have been sharing. If not, head over to the Want2Scrap blog for the complete lists.
Want2Scrap will be giving away $100.00 worth of gift certificates, and Glue Arts will have some awesome goodies up for grabs as well!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I needed a graduation card for the son of one of my girlfriends, so I made a grad card with W2S bling and glued it all together with Glue Arts adhesives. The image is an old 2010 Penny Black stamp but it was the only grad stamp I had that would work for a guy. I used watercolors to color it.

Here are some of the supplies I used....

And...here is my card.

The numbers in "2012" are from Want2Scrap's - Chipboard Alphabet- Stylish
I used Art Glitter - Designer Dries Clear Adhesive and  Purple Passion Ultra fine glitter to color the numbers.
The Black Rhinestones are also from Want2Scrap.

The cardstock is Brilliant White, Classic Purple Prismatic, and Intense Yellow Prismatic from Discount Card Stock.

I used Glue Arts - Glue Glider Pro with Extreme Tack runner to attach paper to paper, and their Adhesive Squares to adhere the chipboard numbers.
I stamped and colored the image twice, fussy cut one of them and attached it with an Action Wobbles from Inky Antics, so it wobbles when you move it. :)

I hope you will check out the rest of the Want2Scrap  and Glue Arts team members who have created projects to share with you today.
Here is today's line up.
And me...Trudy Sjolander

To be eligible to win one of the prizes, you must leave comments on both the Want2Scrap blog and the Glue Arts blog.

Thanks so much for hopping by!

I would love it if you left me a little Love before ya go! :)

CardMaker Magazine Blog and CardSwap "Time to Shine" Scavenger Hunt Blog Hop!

Hello everyone!
Welcome to the CardMaker magazine blog and CardSwap blog's "Time to Shine" blog hop!
Both trams have joined their glittery, shimmery forces to create a fun hop to inspire you to shine.

If you are here from Lisa's darling blog, you are in the right place.
If you just happened onto my blog, head on over to the CardMaker magazine blog, where it all starts!
You won't want to miss a single blog! Number one....because I am sure all of the ladies have awesome projects to share with you. And Two. because each blog will provide you with a letter with which you can collect, spell a word/phrase and enter to win a prize. Sounds like a lot of fun, doesn't it? :)

For my card, I decided to break out a pre-colored digi stamp that I illustrated for Clear Dollar Stamps, called "Garden of Life". It is also available in line art only, in case you would want to color it yourself. :)

Here is a close up of my "Shine".
The glitter is from Art Glitter and the pearl bling is from Want2Scrap.

We were asked to share a time with you when we felt we shinned.
For me, in my crafty life anyhow, it was when the September 2011 issue of CardMaker magazine hit the stands. I was truly honored to be the featured designer that month! I had 4 cards in that issue, an interview and a photo of me....IN CARDMAKER!  Too cool!     :)
I hope everyone has a time that makes them feel special in what they do, because God made each and every one of us special in our own way.

The letter yo are looking for on my blog is "A".   :)
Your next stop on the hop is "not such a plain" Jane. :)

BUT WAIT!!!!! Could ya take a second to leave a girl some ♥LOVE♥ before ya go?  *wink*wink* ; )

Thanks so much for hopping by! If you are not already a follower of my blog, I would love it if you became one! :)

Time for a Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop and a Mother's Day Wish

Hello everyone!
First off I would like to wish all of the mommies (including mine) a HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY!  :)

Secondly, I would like to welcome everyone to another...

If you are here from the team blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened onto my blog, you'll want to head back there to the start so you don't miss a thing!

Bonnie picked beautiful pinks and blacks for the May ribbon club assortment and I can hardly wait to see what everyone has created with them!

For my project I created a Mother's Day card for a very special lady in our lives. Our daughter-in-law Kristin. She is expecting our very first grandchild!
I am a firm believer that from the very second of conception, a baby is a baby, so that makes Kristin a mom even though the little one is still in her tummy. :)
I used an adorable digi illustrated by Mo Manning from Mo's Digital Pencil called "mother to be 1".
I broke out with my Copic markers for a change on this one. :)

I don't think Kristin will mind if I share the inside of the card with you. :)
Notice the two little strips of pink at the bottom. They were trimmed from the 6x6 designer paper that I cut for the front panel, and could have been tossed in the trash, but I saved them to ad a little sumpin' sumpin' to the inside. :)

Here is a peek at this month's Ribbon Club assortment. Isn't it yummy?

If you are not a Ribbon of the Month club member, there is no better time than now to sign up! Who wouldn't like to get a fun surprise assortment of pretty ribbon in their mail box every month?

The pretty designer paper is Fancy Pants - Summer Soul, which is available from StopAndScrap.
The pretty bling is from Want2Scrap
If you would like to see another shot of the card and get the names and links to all of the bling that I used, head over to the Want2Scrap blog after you have finished the hop. ;)
I used Beacon- Fabri-tac to put it all together.

Make sure to leave a comment on all of the girl's blogs (including mine) so you can increase your chances of winning a fun prize from Really Reasonable Ribbon!

Your next stop on the hop is sweet Linda's blog. I bet she'll have something awesome to share with you!

Thanks for dropping by!
