Hand-made "Prima-like Flower" Card

Hi Everyone!
Yesterday I took a stab at making a "Hand-made Prima-like" flower and I think it turned out pretty cool!
I wanted mine to be a little different so I used Bazzill Swiss Dots paper, some assorted flower punches and the twist is the seam binding that I got from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I died it all with Glimmer mist and added some glitter.
I was hoping that whatever sketch challenge that they posted on Split Coast Stampers today would allow me to use it.
Guess what...a flower is the focal point of today's SC324 challenge! WoooHooo!
I whipped up my card and here it is. ;)

The stamp is from the "Roses To Die For" set that I illustrated for Clear Dollar Stamps.
The Olive Wrinkled ribbon on the sentiment is also from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Here is a close-up of my home-made flower.

Would you like to see a tutorial on how to make the flower? If enough people respond "yes" I will try to get one made soon.

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Hugs,
True :D

Time for The March Digi Releases @ Clear Dollar Stamps!

Hi again everyone!
This is my second post of the day so I hope you will scroll on down after you've read this post to see what else I have been up to. ;)

Today is digi release day @ Clear Dollar Stamps and I have 2 projects to show you.
The first was done with my "Sentimental Puppy" illustration. This is not the project I had planned on showing for this image. When I checked out Split Coast Stampers this morning they had a pretty color combo challenge going on today so I ran to my studio, whipped this card up, got photos done and changed my post. I will show the original project next week. :)

The digi set is available now for instant download @ Clear Dollar Stamps for just $2.50

The next project is a card set created with Laurie Wilson's ~ "Yummy Cupcakes" digi.
It comes in black and white with colored images too.

I used  the pre-colored green frosting cupcake for my card set.

The ribbon on these cards is also from Really Reasonable Ribbon and is from their March Ribbon of the Month Club set.

I hope you will head on over to Clearly iStamp blog ad check out the links to the other girl's digi release posts.

Thanks for dropping by!

Time For a New Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge!!!!

Hi Everyone!
A new challenge starts today over @ Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings.

The challenge is called "One For The Boys". If you are like me, you make 99% of your cards for girls/women and when you need a "guy" card, you have to rush to get one done. Why not join us in the challenge and make a card for a guy to have on hand for the next time you might need one? Or just get a jump on the next guy birthday you have coming up. Of course since it's a RRR challenge, you also have to use ribbon or like me, use trim. ;)

The fabulous papers are Brown Bag,  Heavenly White, and Green Crepe all from The Paper Temptress.

I colored this little guy with watercolors and had a bit of fun by coloring his hammock to look like a banana! :)
The sky was sponged with shimmering chalk. I used Stickles on the sun and in the water...which looks a little speckled in the photo but nice in real life. :)

The image is from Dustin Pike, this week's co-sponsor.

Come on over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings and take a peek at what our design team plus some special guests have whipped up for your inspiration.
If you join us, you could win some awesome ribbons or a gift certificate from our co-sponsor!

Thanks for dropping by!

Sharing One of My Inky Antics Cards That Got Published!

~*~*~ Looking for the Really Reasonable Ribbon's blog hop? Scroll down 1 post. ;) ~*~*~

Hi Everyone!
Last year I was honored to have been asked to be a co-contributing artist to a wonderful book called "Coloring Techniques For Card Making" written by the fabulous Keri Lee Sereika and published by Annie's Attic.
I had 5 cards in this awesome book and got to show the 1st one when we did a release blog hop back in August. You can see that card HERE.
Since Annie's Attic bought publication rights, my friend Tanya Fox (editor of the book) said we have to wait 6 months to show any of the other photos on our blogs, which is only fair. ;)
Time flies and it has been over 6 months now, so I thought I would share one with you today.

Funny thing is, I used an Inky Antics stamp called "Turtle's Balloon" and am now on their very first design team! Small world! ;)

I can't give you the card recipe or details but you can find them on page 42 of the "Coloring Techniques For Card Making" book. ;)

You can purchase either the soft-cover copy or the PDF Electronic Download version.

I will post some of the other cards that were published within the next couple of weeks so keep checking back! :)

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Hugs,
True :D

The 1st Ever Layout On My Blog & RRR Blog Hop

Hello All!
It is the 13th of the month which means that it is time for another fun Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings blog hop!
If you came from Cheryl's sweet blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened on to the hop here, you will want to start back at the beginning at RRR design team blog.

Yes....it's a scrapbook page and No...you are not on the wrong blog! LOL!
I am sharing my first ever layout on my blog. It is simple but I wanted my beautiful niece Emily's picture to be the focal point.

This is one of her senior pictures. Isn't she beautiful!?!

For the hop today, I used a ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon's - March Ribbon of the Month Club package. Bonnie picked out lots of pretty purples and whites  for this set.  :)

Here is a closer look at the ribbon treatment. I used Scor-Tape and scrunched it. I did a VIDEO some time back showing how easy it is if you want to check it out a little bit later.

The pearls are White Gradient Pearls from Creative Charms and I colored them with Copics to match.

The papers and most of the embellishments are from K&Company's Tim Coffey ~ Cottage Garden collection. The pretty flower is Prima and the green cardstock is Bazzill Swiss Dots.

Your next stop on the hop is the wonderful Tilly's blog.  ;).

Remember to leave a comment on all of the hop blogs for your chance to win some beautiful ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon!

Just a reminder....Really Reasonable Ribbon is having a full design team call right now.
If you love ribbon and would like to get lots of it free every month...you should check it out.
Click HERE for all of the details.....after you leave me some love that is!  ;)

I would love to here what you think about my first posted layout...and please be nice...I'm a newbie! ;)

Thanks so much for dropping by!

"Oh My Lucky Charms" Cards!

Hi Everyone!

It is my turn to post over @ the Creative Charms blog and I wanted to share the post on my blog too.
I did a couple of cards with this month's fun "Oh My Lucky Charms" Deal of the Month kit.
When I opened up my DT package and saw all of the greens and teals, I instantly thought of the new K&Company's  "Poppy Seed" papers and embellishments I had just bought. Of course greens match tons of papers but I mean this was spot on perfect!!!! ;)
The only thing I had to figure out was what stamp to use. Two different ones popped into my head and I just couldn't decide, soooo....you guessed it.....I did them both! :)

The first one is done with one of the digital sets that I illustrated for Clear Dollar Stamps called "Love Tweet Love".

The second one was done with Inky Antic's ~ "Flower Teacup Mousie".

I usually paint my images then coordinate the embellishments and paper to match. It was really fun, painting my images to match my embellishments for a change! :)
BTW..the gorgeous Amethyst cardstock is from The Paper Temptress.

The paper trim under the ribbon and the purple Prima flowers were added from my stash but, all of the other embellishments including the looped flower buttons, brads, gems and ribbon on both cards came from this month's Creative Charms ~ Deal of the Month kit.
What an awesome way to get color coordinated embellishments and it is over a $20.00 value for just $6.99!!!

I would love to hear which card you like best. I can't make up my mind! :)

Thanks for dropping by!

"Purrfect Day Kitty" Another of My Digi Illustartions

Hi Everyone!
I had several of these "Purrfect Day" kitty digi images that I created for Clear Dollar Stamps colored up from when I tried, tried, and tried again for my latest Prismacolor and Gamsol video tutorial.
The video can be found HERE.
I popped in to see what was going on over @ SplitcoastStampers today and they had an adorable sketch for our inspiration. Since I already had the kitty colored, I used in and whipped my card up in a flash! :)

I love the effect that pencils and Gamsol give for coloring fur.
That pretty ribbon is Really Reasonable Ribbon's ~ Green Glitz.

If you would like these images, they are available for instant download @ Clear Dollar Stamps for just $2.50!

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Hugs,
True :D

"Poor Girls" Ribbon Organization ~ RRR Organization Week!

Hi Everyone!
It is "Organization Week" over @ Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings, and each of the design team are sharing how they keep their ribbons organized. Today is my turn and I showed my "Poor Girl's" organization there but I have other ways of storage that I would like to show here too.

For my "Poor Girl's" method, I used to use a cafe rod to slide my spools of ribbon on and it worked great until I started on the Really Reasonable Ribbon design team and my ribbon "hording" got worse/better, depending on if it's hubby's view or mine. LOL!
Those little cardboard rolls take up a lot more room then you think!
I now have 2 cafe rods full of ribbon. I am only showing the one with the RRR ribbons though since they are the prettier ones! ;)

I have the rods between my fabric cabinet and a door jam and it is held up with tension...no nails or screws. :)
Since the door is almost always open, the ribbons are behind it and protected from light.

I string yard long lengths (I loop longer pieces as needed) on to large safety pins, by color and hue then run it through a key ring and slide them on the rod. It is very easy to see everything I have at one glance! :)

Melissa from Ribbon Rings sent the design team a starter set of her product and I just LOVE it! I chose to put my RRR lace on it. This way the threads won't get stretched like they do with my pin and rod method.
It also looks very pretty hanging from my fabric cabinet knob!
She also is going to give one of my lucky followers their very own Ribbon Ring starter set! All you have to do for a chance is comment on this post. The winner will be picked on March 17th.

Lou Ann from Creative Touch, the US rep. for BEST Craft Organizer, sent us all a Ribbon Spooler and I LOVE it too!
I use mine to keep my latest RRR ribbons of the month close at hand. It fits perfectly into the craft drawer tower that is at my work table.

You can win the Ribbon Ring, The Ribbon Spooler or a Clip It Up organizer by heading over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon organization week posts and following the rules which are to become a follower and/or help us spread the word plus leave comments. Super easy!

You will also want to check back @ RRRR daily until we are through on 3/16. The other DT girls will be showing how they keep their ribbons organized.

OK......I hesitated to share my dirty little secret, but here goes.....
Once I joined the RRR design team, I pretty much quit using other company's ribbons all together. Who needs the others when you can have all of the beautiful Really Reasonable Ribbon you could use? :)
I took the "off brands" down and thew them in two full sized milk crates which I hide in the closet. I had planned on using this week to get them all organized but instead, unexpectedly spent the week at the hospital with my sweet hubby. Sooooooo......here is the rest of my ribbons all pulled out of the closet for the world to see!

I need to order some more Ribbon Rings and Ribbon Spoolers so I can store them away nicely!
I will get them organized soon! PROMISE!  ;)

I would love to hear how you keep your ribbon organized! :)
Don't forget to comment here for your chance at the Ribbon Ring that will be given away from my blog. :)

BTW...If you would like lots of pretty new ribbons to play with, and you love to create and share your work. Please consider applying for the current RRR design team call that is going on now!

A Card With My "Flower Bunny" Illustration For Tutorial

Hi Everyone!
Sorry I have not been posting lately. My sweet hubby has been in the hospital all week with heart issues. Please keep him (Robert) in your prayers. He is home now but still has some procedures ahead of him to get his normal heart rhythm back.

I popped on to share a card that I did last week for a Tombow coloring tutorial on Clearly iStamp.

I drew this little guy for last month's stamp of the month but he is still available for purchase at Clear Dollar Stamps for just $4.99!

That beautiful ribbon is Really Reasonable Ribbon's  - Moss Silk.
The stunning embellishment is Creative Charm's - Pink Vintage Brads.
The papers are from K&Company's - Tim Coffey Cottage Garden Stack

I hope you will head on over to Clearly iStamp and check out my coloring tutorial.
If you like it....please leave some love.  :)

Time For Another Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge!

Hi Everyone!

It is the first of the month which means that it is time for another Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings challenge! This time the theme is "Use Green Plus Ribbon".
We have Whimsie Doodles as a co-sponsor so I am using their fun "Margaritas" image.

The beautiful ribbon is Really Reasonable Ribbon's - Moss Silk.
The designer paper is from K&Company's "Summer Song".

I used Diamond Glaze on the cherry, lemons, limes, and glass then added some clear glitter to "salt" the rim.

I hope you will head on over to our RRRR blog to see what the rest of the girls have created to inspire you.
I would also LOVE to see you join in on our challenge!
You could win some Whimsie Doodle images or some beautiful ribbons. ;)

Thanks for dropping by!
