"Pretty Lily" Card

Hello,
This "Pretty" card was made with "Bazzill" and “DCWV Whimsy" papers. I did it to try out for a DT position with the stamp manufacturer. I seem to do a lot of cards in peach and turquoise. I just love the color combination! It works nicly with stamp...don't you think?

My Unicorn Card

Hello,
I just found this really cool stamp company called "The Greeting Farm" and bought this digi stamp. I used "DCWV Pocket full of Posies" paper. I painted the tail and mane of the unicorn to match the colors in the paper. It is on eBay right now so click HERE to see more pictures.

I think it turned out pretty!

Please leave a comment below if you think so too! :)

Cloud Tutorial

There are many ways you can create clouds for your cards or scrapbook pages. They are much easier than you think. Here is how I do mine.
First of all, don't waste your money on a cloud stencil. Draw and cut your own making sure to do multiple sizes of lobes. I use the chalking method. I love the pearlescent dry chalks with mini poms and rubbing tool. Mine is "I kan' dee" from Pebbles Inc.
Photobucket

Always start at the top of your project and work your way down. Load your pom with a little light blue chalk and rub it just above the edge of your cloud template. You will be hitting your template too if you are doing it correctly. Just hit a few lobes in each step. You will want to rub it in very good to make it permanent.
Photobucket

Move your template down and repeat using a few different lobes placed at a little different angle. Keep repeating these steps until you have filled your "cloud" area.

The final step softens your clouds. Just using the chalk that is left on your pom and the loose chalk on the picture, pull the tops of the clouds in upward strokes to fill in some of the light areas. Make sure to not get into the tops of the white area so you don't lose your cloud definition. You might also pull some color down to you horizon line depending on your picture. See my puppy dog card in my last blog for an example.

New card with a brand new stamp!

Hello,
This is my latest card. Isn't he cute? :)
I created this card to try out for a DT position with Whimsy Stamps. (Check out the call on Splitcoaststampers). I do not have any of their stamps yet because I just discovered them. Where have I been? LOL! Anyhow, they said I could use another company's stamp if needed. I will be ordering some from them though. They have some DARLING stuff!

The puppy dog image is from Polly Craft and the sentiment inside is good ol' Stampin' Up. I found these wonderful patterned card stocks form DCWV. They are in their "Pets" stack. The base of the card is Bazzill Swiss Dots, and the orange is core'dinations.

Another St. Patty's Day Card

Photobucket
Photobucket

HI!
No....you are right...not my normal style! I had some fun with it though!
The image was a print I downloaded from the internet of an old nostalgic post card. It was cut out and popped many times! The hat alone was popped 5 times and looks as though he is tipping it forward. And look at all of that bling! Shamrocks and, flowers and bows...oh my! LOL!
The inside has both hand-sewn and machine stitching
Thanks again for checking it out. If you would like to see more pictures, you can check it out on eBay by clicking HERE.

My St. Patrick's Day Card

Hello All!
I just finished my first St. Patty's Day card. I used a couple of Spellbinders" heart sets to make the four leaf clover. I used Bazzil Dots for the main card body, Core'dinations and K&Company papers and cardstocks.

Here is another frustration prevention tip. :)

Have you ever reached for that favorite ink pad or marker, only to find that the lid was not on tight and it dried out? Maybe you have been in the middle of a card and that "perfect" color of ink ran out. This product is great to have around for little emergency's such as these. It is Ranger's Perfect Ink Refresher. Other companies make a similar product. You just spray a few shots on your pad or marker, wait a few minutes, and you can start using your ink again! Magic! :) It only costs around $4.00 and will last forever. Click HERE for more info.

Here is a tip that may save you paper and frustration!

Here is a very simple but priceless tip:
How many times have you had that one perfectly coordinated piece of paper only to miss cut it and render it useless because of all of the tiny little lines on your straight cutter? It used to happen to me pretty often. Those darned rule lines can be hard to see sometimes. I find myself using a pretty standard set of measurements for most of my cards, so I came up with a simple solution. I marked the cut sizes I use most often along the forward edge of my alignment ruler. Now instead of trying to find 5 3/4” I just look for the red B, 5 3/8” red C, 2 13/16” black B and so on. Don’t want to mark on your cutter? Lay a piece of tape down first!

A simple solution for a very frustrating problem.
If this tip helps you…please post a comment!
Thanks!

Dad's Birthday Card

Photobucket

Well, as usual, I waited until the last minute! Today was my dad's birthday and I hurried home from work and made this for him. I don't usually like to do silhouettes but dad is an outdoorsy guy and most of my stamps are cutesy. These stamps are from a "Stampin' UP" camping set. The main body of the card is made out of "Bazzill Dots"cardstock. I just LOVE that stuff!
I think it turned out pretty nice and dad loved it! I should have made two and put one on eBay! LOL :)
