Sharing My Blitsy Deal!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all don't get tired of seeing me go on and on about how awesome Blitsy is but I am going to give you a visual as to why, instead of just telling you about it again, because you are my crafty friends. I want you to reap the rewards too!

I just placed another order today with credits earned by posting/sharing about Blitsy. Look at the receipt and you will see that my order total was $15.90. That is shipping (plus a little that I went over by). Blitsy's sale price totaled $152.95 but together the retail price would have been $227.00. So...I got $227.00 worth of crafty goodness for just $15.90! and this is the 12th time I have placed an order like this in less than a year! See why I love them? :)

It just takes a second to sign up and it doesn't cost a thing. Start sharing and you too can earn crafty credits!

Here are just a few of the items that are on sale at deep discounts right now. :)

Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop and My Halloween Cookies

Hi Everyone and welcome to another Really Reasonable Ribbon blog hop!

If you are here from the Really Reasonable Ribbons Ramblings blog, you are in the right place.
If you just happened on to my blog, you will want to go back one step to start at the beginning.

Regular followers of my blog,  know that I have started sharing my baked goodies on here as of late too. Why not combine my love of all things sweet and my love of pretty ribbons?

The September Ribbon Club Kit has all of the fun colors that we normally associate with Halloween, (even though, they can be used as every day ribbons as well).
I know it's early, but it put me in the mood for some Halloween cookies.
We will have to eat these and I will make more for Halloween.
I used my "Spiced Orange Sugar Cookie" recipe, so they are extra tasty! :)
These would be great for you to make for your special little ghouls and goblins too!

Click on photo for a closer look.

I simply made sugar cookies, using some of Wilton's Halloween Cookie Cutters, frosted them with Royal Frosting, let them dry, then made these fun little gift packages.
The background cardstock is Bazzill Two Scoops in Prickly Pear, Pumpkin Pie, and Black Cow, all from Discount Card Stock. The designer paper is from Graphic 45's "Happy Hauntings" stack.
The pretty bows make the packaging complete! :)

Here is a peek at all of the ribbons in this month's set as well as the frosting colors I mixed to match it.

Not a member of the ribbon club yet? What are you waiting for? Who wouldn't like to get a surprise package of beautiful ribbons every month? CLICK HERE for details.

I should also mention that Really Reasonable Ribbon is currently in the middle of a design team call!
We are looking for talented crafters and artists who love using ribbon, work well with deadlines and have great personalities. If you are a card maker, scrapbooker, hair bow maker, paper crafter, ribbon artist, altered artist or if you do anything fun and unique with ribbon please apply.  Our readers are looking for variety, so don't be afraid to show your creative side.

Quilt Block Cookies and Spiced Orange Sugar Cookie Recipe!

Hi Everyone!

I have been busy making cards for special projects, that I can't share at this time, so I thought I would share something else.
I am also a quilter and...I love to make cookies, and have combined the two loves to make these fun quilt block cookies. I have to admit that it's not my original idea. I first saw something similar on Pinterest from Emily and Amy's Treats.

Mine are 2 1/2" squares, all with different "fabric" designs.

The hard part was deciding which quilt pattern to photograph them in.

Here's another.  ;)

I thought I would share a tasty recipe with you as well. I started with this awesome End All For Vanilla Sugar Cookie recipe from Lila Loa, then added a few ingredients for a different flavor. So...here is my twist.

Spiced Orange Sugar Cookies

1 cup salted butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon orange extract
the zest from one orange
3/4 tsp cardamom
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
4 cups flour

Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, vanilla, orange extract, orange zest and cardamom. Mix well. Add baking powder and salt and mix to incorperate.  Add flour 1 cup at a time. Chill in refrigerator for at least an hour. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Bake at 375 F for 5-6 minutes, or until just barely starting to color on the edges.
I used Royal frosting to decorate mine, but you can sprinkle with sugar before baking or use  Butter-cream frosting if you would prefer.

I just had to share this photo with you too. I splurged and bought myself some red enameled stainless steel mixing bowls and this was the first time I used one. The butter looked so cool in it that I had to pop a photo. It's hard to tell where the butter stops and the reflection starts! :)

If you would like a link to a great Royal Frosting recipe and some awesome tutorials, check out this post at The Sweet adventures of Sugarbella.

Thanks so much for dropping by!
Hope your day is a sweet one! :)

More Sweet Treats to Share

Hi Everyone!

Hope you don't mind me sharing my goodies on my blog. I know most of you are here because of my cards. :)
I made some truffles for a friend who is on Weight Watchers. They are 2 points each so she can have one a day on the days she has extra points to use.
They are strawberry, vanilla and chocolate.

Any flavor of cake, baked per recipe. Cool and crumble. Add enough frosting (I use homemade Butter-cream) to make it just moist enough to form a ball. Start with 1/8 cup frosting. You don't want them soggy. Roll into 1" balls, then dip in melted Candy Melts and drop on waxed paper. Decorate to your liking before candy hardens.
They store at room temperature for about a week or in the fridge for a couple of weeks in an air tight container.

I also made some "HOME" themed cookies for some friends/family that are house hunting. :)

Thanks for dropping by!

Art With Sugar and Flour

Hi everyone!

I thought I would pop on and show you some goodies that I created for a friend's function last week.
I don't care what medium I create in....I just love creating! :)

My first ever "ruffle" cake.

Royal frosted sugar cookies.

Cream cheese butter mints.

And a Pineapple Upside-down cake turned right-side-up and frosted in the shape of a "50". :)

The cakes look small but they really weren't. That was a deep table! :)

Hope your day is a SWEET one! :)

Hugs,

"Escape Your Comfort Zone" With The CardMaker Girls Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to another fun blog hop with the CardMaker magazine blog design team!

If you are here from sweet Anya's blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened onto my blog, you will want to head back to the CardMaker blog where it all starts.

Brooke asked  us to create a card using a technique that we don't normally use, and escaping our comfort zone.
I have always loved seeing people do Zentangle. Zentangle basically is doodling in a controlled manor using repetitive designs. Mind you, I am sure not a pro. I've only done it once or twice, so my version is very simple.

I wanted to create a "Thank You" card for Brooke. She is the fearless leader of the fun CardMaker magazine blog team. She keeps us all organized and under control  :) ....and she ROCKS!!!

This is how I started out

Thanks so much for dropping by today. If you liked my card, I would love for you to leave me a comment before you go. BTW...you can leave a comment if you didn't like it too.  ;)
I hope you will Google Zentangle, look for more professional examples, and give it a try. It is very fun and relaxing! :)

Your next stop on the hop is back to the CardMaker blog, where I am sure Brooke will have something awesome to share with you!  :)

Here are the links to the rest of the girls on the hop, just in case you hoped in somewhere in the middle  :) ...

Trudy Sjolander (you are here)

Hugs,

Time for Another Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop!

Hello everyone and welcome to the August Really Reasonable Ribbons Ramblings blog hop!

If you are here from the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened on to my blog, you will want to head back there so you don't miss a thing.
The August Ribbon Club set is made up of some beautiful purples and grays that look awesome together.

Now, I know when you think of using ribbon, masculine cards aren't the first thing that comes to mind. I needed a masculine card though, and thought I could kill two birds with one stone. These colors worked awesome for it if I do say so myself! :)

Here's my card.

I simply wove assorted ribbons and attached it to a piece of cardstock to make the focal point.
I embossed the gray background paper with an embossing folder, then hit the high spots with a watermark ink. The sentiment is an old Stampin'UP! stamp.
I hope you will try weaving ribbons if you haven't already. It is quite fun!
The monthly Ribbon Club kits work great for this technique because Bonnie has already picked ribbons that look awesome together. Not a member yet? CLICK HERE to find out all of the details and/or sign up.

Please make sure to leave a comment on my blog and on each of the other girls blogs, because as always, there will be a prize and lots of inspiration. I have seen a couple of sneak peeks and the girls have really outdone themselves!

Your next stop on the hop is sweet Linda's blog.

Thanks for dropping by today!

Don't have time to play along? You can still head over there and take a quick look at the beautiful projects the other girls have created for you.
